Times change!

At the time it was being introduced into the market, I told myself a screen touch phone wasn't for me. I was one of those who firmly held onto Blackberry and phones with keypads until the very end. Today I consider it crazy funny thinking of owning a phone right now that is keypad. I was passing by a church and heard them singing serious prayer songs with loud clapping and speaking in tongues. It came off as a surprise because it wasn't the practice of this church to be praying violently and more, moving from their routine. I remember telling my Mum we wanted our kid through CS. She spent a very good amount of time forbidding it and telling me how strong women in our lineage were forgetting it wasn't a thing of strength but our person decision. Nurses thought I was being manipulated, or better still thought hubby and I were crazy and were suggesting I don't go throught with it. BY the time the second child was coming, Mum had become a great believer in our d...

Have you asked questions?

A smart man learns from experience But a wise man learns from the experience of others. It doesn't necessarily have to happen to you before you know what to do. It mustn't be until you've sank and lost your savings in that project or business before you realize it was a faux; ask questions. You mustn't write a million times and be equally rejected to realize what the business wants or how they operate; ask questions. How about rushing to buy landed properties just to 'pepper them' and now 16 others are claiming ownership here and there with you; Did you ask questions? Fine boy, fine girl, this one must be the perfect match. Eight months later you're playing Celine Dion and crying from heartbreak; you ask questions? For everything you want to do in life, there's someone who has been there and done that. So why not tap into that wealth of experience instead of personally going through the merry go round?  Learning from the experiences of others...

And there we go again...

The subject matter of faithfulness has seriously been over flogged and yet, nothing. Whenever it comes to the forefront of the media we cry all over again, cursing, giving opinions and screaming like it's a new topic. It started off as some kinda joke or rumour that Davido got some American pornstar pregnant. We were hoping it wasn't true story until the lady began posting receipts. Well, as we speak, Davido's 6th Baby Mama is online as well, sharing receipts of his entanglement with her.  From receipts shared we deduced that his wife is pregnant as well. All of these pregnant ladies popping up and you're still married?😡🤷🤷 When the issue of faithfulness comes up, most people go on the defensive and begin to give a million and one reason why infidelity is to be assumed as a common practice/way of life. If it were so, then why do people go to crazy trying to defend it. If it were a normal practice, it wouldn't attract so much attention that it becomes a...

God help us!

The way this news slapped the airwaves and clunged on with a vicious grip was more than baffling. Different media outlets posting, spicing and reposting, with crazy captions to make it eye catching. How much more individuals on their different status and all. We all woke up to the news that Banky has purportedly been cheating on his wife Adesua for years, had two abortions and is now with the third child and has refused to terminate it and has been holding it over Banky. The way so many persons tuned into the story and began giving opinions of all sort! The Wellingtons that have been the internet sensation as well as everyone's 'God when', overnight turned into a subject torn apart with words with so many already speculating it assuredly to be true . It was shocking to see so many people passing negative judgments. Well, as regards the issue itself, I've got nothing to say except that the couple are in the best position to answer to the news making rounds an...

Do it if you can cos you deserve it.

First car we bought, hubby and I were debating which was most important; carry on with building our house and buying a car. I kinda didn't see the need for it given that we could easily access transporters whenever we needed to go out. Well, we ended up getting the car and then I realized what we truly had been missing out on; convenience, saving time and more. Consequently, I always tell hubby that having a car was a necessary liability. It's merit overshadowing it. Many years down the line I still can't believe how we managed when the car wasn't there. We built our first house and were yet to drill our own borehole so, we contracted a tank driver to come supply us water every three weeks. Someone came visiting and said we were being wasteful. Walking a long distance to get water or begging from neighbours would've shown we were caring men right? My question therefore goes thus; Mu st people be seen suffering before we agree they're working hard? Wh...

You can do it

Today, I was opportuned to do what I love doing again; cooking! I started off cooking for a large number one time when we needed money dearly for a project. Hubby had already come up with over half of the amount and at that stage, needed a little boost. He was in charge of the entertainment for a program. 'I love cooking', I thought to myself, so why not do this cooking job so i can generate my own money and all? And there began my journey into big cooking. My first time cooking for a large number, it was for about 120 persons. Ohhhhhh I was pretty frightened but I had set my mind on doing it and making it happen so, I said my prayers and went online. I began watching YouTube videos, did some reading online and began trying them out. Yes, I took on the project with so much fear but I didn't let that stop me. I faced it , prepared myself mentally and emotionally and guess what? I knocked that cooking off the park. How about the financial and other gains I enjoyed...

Live your footprints in the sand!!!

As is customary to hubby and I, we were lost in our midnight gossip when we heard and saw our door knob moving. Someone was trying to forcefully gain entrance into our hotel room. Not once, twice or thrice. They kept attempting. In the dead of the night! Of course we called for help but as is typical of the police they were 'no show'. At that point all I could think about was the things that mattered most; the safety of my husband, the welfare of my kids should anything happen to us, and how about my parents, siblings and other loved ones? Ever been faced with situations that got you thinking? Faced with life and death and nothing else made any sense? Not the money in your account, not the number of friends you have, not the people you know, not your connections, not your assets or achievements/accomplishments, not your past or failures, not how expensive you look. All that would matter at that point would be your life, the value of your life and what your absence w...
