Count your blessings

Juliana cried herself to sleep
After all the time spent researching and studying, with every other preparation in between, she lost the contract
This was supposed to be 'the one'

Raymond couldn't believe his luck
Things just weren't going as he had planned
His neighbour Chuks just opened his fourth store while he was struggling to open his second

Another promotion and Mercy wasn't promoted
'Babe see all my mates na, dey don dust me by far' she complained to friends

If life dealt with us based on where we feel our mates are, then we surely would be lost

Some of our mates are dead
Some in the hospital
Some haven't had a reason to smile all year
Others have no inclination of what to do with their lives

Ohhh yesssss, some others have been pretty successful
But then take a look at your life
Where you started and where you are today
You may not have achieved all you set out to do but you're not where you used to be
Your today is someone's prayer request

Take a deep breath
Appreciate where you are
Appreciate how much you've done
Pause for a minute and reflect and you'd see that your present day is indeed a blessing

Yes, tomorrow will surely bring better
But today, stop and count your blessings.

Bingo on the lose

My people, I was taking my daughter to school when I heard sounds of feet behind me and a man making a call signal. I turned to see what was going on, only to find a correct dog right behind me. Hmmmmmm my mouth opened on its own accord, next thing I knew, doors were flying open because the way my screaming pierced the air, ahhhhhhhhhhhh! The man started apologizing profusely, saying the dog just took off the minute he opened his door. And everyone went into their rooms as per, normal occurrence. Since I set foot in the Dublin, I think dogs are dragging numbers with humans. Everywhere you turn, someone has a dog and you need to see how protective they are about it. They smile and tell you 'Don't worry, he/she is friendly and loves to play' Then they pause with their dog and wait for you to rub the dog. It's considered impolite and somewhat rude when you don't.
