1000 ways to survive parenting

'Stop jumping!'
The words had barely left my mouth when we heard the front windscreen to our brand new car crack
Hubby and i were so shocked all we could do was stare at our 4years old who had just cracked the windscreen with his head while jumping

As African parents the first instinct was to take off my flip flop and show him pepper but hubby said 'Baby, to what end?'
Ahhhhhhhh Baba!
Some weeks back it was my Samsung phone the he insists on watching his favourite cartoon with that was sent on early retirement

As parents to toddlers, you'd always find yourself screaming stop for one reason or the other and your patience tested to it's maximum limit
Does that stop the kids from causing mayhem?
Hahaha, maybe for a minute before their focus locks onto another target

This holiday period has indeed tested our parenting resolve on not flogging them sourly for random mistakes
Kids would always be kids and if we're to get physical and flog them every time they do something wrong we wouldn't be instructing them properly
Kids these days are super smart, intelligent  and highly sensitive

Seeing the damage he did, our son on his own accord began crying while he apologized saying 'Daddy sorry'
What then was the point in flogging him seeing that he realized he had done something wrong and was remorseful about it?
This post does not make light the place of disciplining kids where necessary but to say that doing so should be with sensitivity and proper consideration of given situations
