And so it has begun...

Everything that could go wrong seems to be going wrong all at once.
As of today, about three states have been caught up in wild protests.

It all began gently with long queues at the banks, then it progressed to more hoarding of cash, people were protesting in their individuals ways, some would sleep over in banks just to be the firsts to make withdrawal in the morning. Others were going naked in the banking hall, fights began breaking out amongst customers due to the frustration.
Financial institutions began selling cash to POS operators, who in turn skyrocketed their withdrawal charge to almost half the amount of every withdrawal made.

In all these the government was quiet and took no actions to end the practice.
How can so many drastic changes be implemented same time? Change of currency, seizure of the use of old currencies without the new in circulation, then an abrupt move for a cashless society yet the financial institutions that would aid this smooth transition are shutdown due to bad services.

You can't queue to withdraw,
You can't transfer,
You use the POS to finally get cash, you're charged half the amount you're withdrawing, yet you're given the supposed old currencies
You go to purchase anything and the sales person refuses to collect it.

The court says old currencies are still acceptable legal tenders, CBN says old currencies are no longer acceptable.
The President remains silent as these institutions continue to banter back and forth without care.
There's an adage that says when two elephants fight, it's the grass that suffers.
The Nigerian people are bearing the brunt of bad leadership and decisions.
Gradually they're beginning to take laws into their hands and to think for themselves hence the worrisome protests. Some have even lost their lives, vandalization and burning of banks, armed robbery is surfacing again at eateries, shops and yet everywhere is silent. We can only hope that soonest the government would alleviate the suffering of the people.
The youths and every adult must decided to vote for a better Nigeria.

The government is surely determined to end on a sour note and hand over a chaotic state to the next government. God help us.
