Present!

How can you really claim to be a loving parent when you're lovingly absent in the live of your kids?
Inter-house sports
Recitals
Dance classes
Games
Take home assignment...

Buying the most expensive gifts and toys as well as dressing up your kids in the best of outfits/designers, doesn't equate to being present.
You're only trying to replace your parental position with any material thing possible.

Hubby has always been a hands-on Dad.
He does alot of research, traveling and teachings but whenever he walks into the house, he gets down with the kids and is attentive to their every needs until they all fall asleep.
He makes sure his place stays warm in their hearts whenever he's away with calls, videos, voice messages and more.

There's something about having your parents present. It adds a spring to your step and boosts your confidence.
I remember what end of year exam used to look like back in the day. That day is characterized with the giving of awards.
It's always a sad  experience, watching others kisds being cheered on while yours is nowhere to be found. No matter the kind of award you're being given, once family or loved ones are absent from cheering you on, it all becomes gray.

Show up as much as you can for your kids. Time runs, they're surely growing and they'll always remember these kinda memories you created.
