Evil communications...

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
                       1 Corinthians 15:33

This Bible passage is so profound, it didn't lie.
It's truth has been tested and stands firm.
So many circumstances and situations have proven this, and here's another one.

We had a childhood friend growing up, his name was Actor. Not really at very young age but our paths crossed around the end of High school to our college days and then afterwards, life happened and everyone went their separate ways.

We weren't so close as to frequent each other's homes but we were cool in church.
Actor wasn't privileged to go to school, but he was always hustling, doing his best to make ends meet for himself.
We never got to meet his family but he was such a lovely soul.
Quick to help, always in church and he never came late
Always smiling, as I have no memory of him frowning or sad.
Actor had it rough, but he was always willing to try his hands on anything legitimate to feed himself. And yes, you could trust him.

During our college days, he opened a car wash and my younger brothers always went there to help him out.
I wasn't really steady at home and so, that was the last I remember.
I just assumed life happened as it scattered everyone to different place, until yesterday during the course of my discussion, he mentioned that news had it that Actor got involved in an armed robbery attempt and was shot dead by the police.
I screamed so loud because this was truly an unbelievable news.
The Actor we all knew was such a gentle guy that won't hurt a fly and for all the years we knew him, his character was consistent.

Dad said he got some guys that began coming around his car wash and I can bet that he was influenced into trying that.
Evil association has been the end of many; not everyone is lucky enough to have a second chance at life.
Those 'friends' are always smoking, drinking, womanizing, gambling or engaged in some crazy vices whenever you're hanging around them.
You say it's nothing and you don't know there's something building up on the inside and so one day, you'd wake up to find yourself acting exactly like them. Don't be surprised, it didn't begin in a day.

Be very very careful of the company you keep
Be even more careful of those you term 'friends' because your life and destiny might be dependent on it.
