Parental abuse!
A parent tortures his kids psychological, suppress their ability to voice out, or air their opinions.
They know their kids are dependent on them so, they use that as a weapon to manipulate their lives.
How about the ones that go about using emotional blackmail on their children to get them into doing what they as parents want.
Many years down the line, you have children who resent their parents,
Children who have no relationship whatsoever with their parents
And those who have, their relationship ends in the place of morality where they just fulfill the duty to care for their parents
Some children completely severe ties with their parents.
We haven't even scratched the surface of the several kinds of damages these abuse result in.
You find adults spending most part of their adult life trying to rebuild and reform.
We agree that children ought to be trained, disciplined and most of all, protected but this doesn't mean carrying on behaviours that won't help kids grow into well rounded adults.
Some lacking social skills, some afraid of the opposite sex, and more.
There was a time my Dad was so controlling, whenever we heard the sound of his car, we'd quickly put off the TV and go wait on the corridors to welcome him home and then everyone disappears to their rooms.
One time, he said he was traveling. We were kinda sad cos we were used to seeing him at home. We discovered some form of freedom in his absence.
He returned home and everything returned back to status quo.
By the second and third time he was traveling, we were happy.
After that, we began to pray for him to have reasons to travel.
Gradually my Dad recognized there was a big divide between we and himself.
Nobody adviced him to patch things up.
Be the kind of parents your kids would remember and smile.
No, it's not about money because you don't have,
Neither is it about indulging the kid's every want.
Setting a balanced foundation for yourself and then, your kids is the miracle glitch.
