Do they want to be helped?
A woman died last month from goitre. This said woman was once found by a good Samaritan who put up her case on social media. People raised money for her, and a team of foreign doctors offered free surgery for her. She declined and asked that the money raised be given to her. Few months later, she died.
Another woman found a beggar with twin kids on the street in another part of the same Abuja after bringing her case to social media, people raised fund for her and she was rented a house, furnished it, bought groceries and everything. Only to find her on the street begging again with the infants.
Today, I'm reading of a woman caught doing the same thing with her very young kids.
Practically sleeping by the side of the road with wrapper after she had been given a well furnished and stocked house.
Some persons don't need help. You see that condition you're trying to bring them out from? They don't need rescuing cos that their farm.
They prey on the goodwill, empathy and kindness of people to furnish their lazy life styles.
This is also applicable to life's decisions oh. Some people, you'd advice them but noooo, they have coconut head and won't listen to anything you're saying.
So before you nose dive into helping anyone, ask yourself if the person you're trying to help wants to be helped.
