How much can one do?

Herbert Wigwe died a little while ago and videos began to surface of his house, party, and stuffs like that. Nigerians began bashing the dead man on how he lived his life in opulence and affluence while people are hungry in the street, calling his money stolen and more.

During the service of songs organized for him, several persons came to testify of the wonderful person he was.

There was no dry eyes in that hall; from the person speaking, to those listening, rich or poor, everyone there had a story of how he helped them.

Yesterday an actress who Funke Akindele had featured a few times in her movie, died.

Funke like every normal person out there make a post mourning the late actress.

The brother to the late actress however came online to attack Funke's post saying that they reached out to her severally while his sister was alive but she didn't answer them so she shouldn't post about the death.

And that was the big story for yesterday.

People jumped on it to say so many unkind things. We would find out later today that Funke actually tried reaching out to the deceased lady.

There's a thin line between hoping for help from someone and feeling entitled to help from them because they're wealthy or doing better than you are.

There are two very important things to note that would help everyone stay sane;

1. EVERYBODY is struggling with one thing or the other.

That people don't announce their issues, responsibilities or pains doesn't mean their life is just a walk in the park and all they do is merry. Everybody is facing challenge according to his/her level.

2. Nobody owes you anything.

People are only nice out of the goodness of their heart.

Imagine if Funke was to share money to every single person she has featured in her movie.

It's not like you're calling her out for not paying wages but for not sending financial help I suppose. 

That a person is perceived to be wealthy does not mean he/she always has money oh, that the irony people don't believe.

If you need help, it good to cry out cos you never know who God will send your way as your helper. 

However when that Aunty, Uncle, Friend or so you're hoping for help from doesn't come through don't jump into conclusions oh.

And to you helper; you can't save everybody.

Funke has been a blessing to countless number of people. How about Wigwe who is the reason some person haven't packed up today? But once in a while when you don't come through and you begin to hear these kinda judgments just rest knowing in your conscience that you can only do so much.
