What's going?

I went online to find the crazy attack on Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. The barrage of insults, the unkind words and meanness!
A podcast just had Mercy's name where the person interviewed said he expected royalties after the success of her albums but his Dad died after being ill but got no aid, no help, no empathy.
The guy interviewed came out clearly to state he wasn't referring to Mercy but the manager of the record label he was under yet people refused to believe and kept hurling terrible words.

The Nigerian social media is a crazy place that can drive a person straight to depression or even death.
How can people be so mean just because you're happy?
Like they're lying in wait for any negative news to jump on you, to bring you down, to pull you and watch you fall.

Please why can't we see that our social media really needs to be restricted ohhhhhh!!!
