Doing laundry

While they're busy helping you rearrange the house.

I was already at my wits end when I heard his younger sister crying.

I assumed it was the usual sibling fight and he probably hit her so without waiting for an explanation, I gave him some cool strokes.

Ohhhhhhhh how he cried

Then went ahead to tell me how she did hit her leg on the dinning table and he didn't hit her.

Hmmmmmm I had to admit my wrong and apologized to him with a good explanation.

In our days, our parents were and still to them, they're always right.

No room for explanation

No room for your opinion

If you were flogged, corrected or anything was done to you wrongly you rarely if ever, would get an apology

We questioned nothing and obeyed everything.

Today the case is different

You don't just go around imposing your thoughts and opinions

In as much as you discipline your kids, you must talk with them, hear them and come to an understanding.

Some parents today are still following the old pattern of parenting.

Most will say 'Yeah, it's the discipline of my parents that made me turn out right'. Agreed but I can beat my chest to saw 90% if not more of adults raised that way have emotional and sometimes physical scars.
