Blessings in disguise
God of mercy!!!
What's going on here?
Broom still in hand, I had just finished sweeping the bedrooms and walked into the sitting room a had barely swept few minutes ago in crazy disarray
Body aches, dripping with sweat, broom in hand I stood staring at my kids smiling at me and the mess they had made
Few days ago my daughter took to writing and drawing on the walls of the house
Last week she inscribed her signature 123 on the brand new car hubby got me
Some months back my son turned detergent into the meat stock I was to use in preparing soup
They've left taps running
Bathed themselves with milk
Poured away my gallon of groundnut oil
My son shaved his hair crazy with a shaving stick ruining his chop life gang hairstyle; still thankful he didn't use it on his sister
When they won't have their way while picking them from school today, they threw tantrum and cried till we got home
And when I complained, hubby made a statement that got me thinking 'When you hear people say they want to hear the cry of a baby in their homes, this is it. Were you thinking it was to be some feast of tears of joy?'
Remembering hubby's statement and looking at my kids and the messy sitting room, I smiled back at the kids and told myself I choose this chaos instead of a spectacularly spotless home without them
Sometimes, our blessings come with the kind of unwritten bumbs, before you complain, remember somebody is praying to be in your position and feel that supposed exhausting bumb you're experiencing
But honestly, I trained myself to see their tears as golden... Last week, away from the house I actually missed their cries and tantrums over nothing and their smiles and plays and how they ensure they disturb my sleep whenever I come home exhausted.
