Testimony tiiiimmmmmeeee!
The service moderator with a big grin plastered on his face shouted into the mic ' Testimony time, overcomers time!'
My siblings and i exchanged knowing glances and almost erupted in laughter.
This time is one of the highlights for us every sunday because of the different set of persons testifying.
Those who must begin their testimony with singing. Ahhhhhhhh Mama Prosper is the chief of this group. She'd sing and sometimes she goes as far as composing songs on the altar for 5 minutes for a testimony she was alloted 3 minutes, testifies for 2 minutes them rounds out complaining about how she wasn't really given time to share her testimony.
How about those who love giving their life history? Some would even trace theirs to the time of their birth and forefathers if possible. These ones are custodians of history.
The prayer warriors? These ones talk for 30 seconds, fall under the anointing and speaking in tongues till their time is up. If you're unfortunate to sit in front any day they decide to testify, prepare to have chairs, their shoes or even themselves land on you as they twist and turn under the anointing.
Mummy Favour's group are the ones who are encyclopedia of scriptures. For every sentence, there's a corresponding Bible reference of at least 3 scriptures. By the time they're done testifying, their pastor's job for the day would've been done so closing benediction is always the most appropriate agenda on the church service list.
There are these listed above and many more but today, we join the team of Daddy Favour as we dance and dance and sweat and sometines we end up forgetting the testimony itself but in all, thanks be to God!
