Business as usual?

Today, 6th September, marks a day of a landmark judgement in Nigeria. It was initially slated to hold on 16th September,  2023.

Nigerians woke up last week to a disturbing call by the Nigerian Labour Congress for  a two-day warning strike to hold on 5th and 6th of September,  2023. As at that time, many people wondered if there ever was a need for the warning strike.

Then came the disappearance of the president and most of his team under the guise of attending the G-20 summit which actually is billed to commence on 9th September,  2023. Many Nigerians wondered if there ever is a need for the president to travel with an entourage of about 300 politicians.

Then over the weekend, a former Supreme Court judge and wife of the former Rivers State governor- Mary Odili made a disturbing speech which appeared to hint towards the contents of the judgement upholding the elections.

It appears like the last blow came from Pastor Paul Adefarasin who on Sunday admonished Nigerians to "move on." It should be recalled that prior to the elections, same metropolitan pastor had made a revelation that "Saul will come before David" interpreted to mean that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate (Saul) will win at the polls. Whilst Nigerians have taken to social media to call him all sorts of names, one can only say that his messages tend to hit at the occurrence of a particular action even before it happens.

Many Nigerians have began to mobilize to start a protest and the military has been deployed to all the states of the federation and the FCT with orders to dispel the process by any means necessary.

considering that Nigeria is a country where soldiers killed peaceful protesters who were waving the national flag while singing the national anthem, I can only warn that whatever the judgement is, ensure that you DO NOT DIE.

stay safe, God bless us all.
