Keep it 🤐
Read a lady's story on Instagram today that reaffirm the advice of always keeping your good news on a low and if possible, to yourself and yourself alone and if you must tell, do so not when it's about to happen but when it's way past.
The story goes that she just got married and as a newly wed, applied for visa to join her husband in the UK.
Luck was on her side, and she got it.
Good news right? And you suppose everyone should be happy right? So she went around telling family and friends with so much joy and excitement.
One day, she returned home to find her passport/visa in her sitting room, shredded into bits and pieces.
A bitter soul had gained access into her house while she went shopping for her relocation and did her dirty.
It took her almost two years to be granted visa again.
My family got this beautiful big deal that would involve us doing some form of relocation and also it opened doors for increased net worth.
I've had this friend for years who I presumed was indeed my friend.
Few days to the relocation , I finally shared the good news and it was supposed to be a happy thing between us.
I simply got ' May it favour you and your family' and that was the end of our communication till date. Aunty stopped talking to me.
NOT EVERYBODY LIKES YOU
NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY TO HEAR THAT GOOD NEWS YOU'RE SHARING
Do well to protect yourself, your destiny and in some cases, your life by keeping that news to yourself.
Christmas is coming oh, you mustn't go to the village to announce you got a new job, or announce that you bought a new car.
It's also not the opportunity for you to invite the whole city to your new house.
KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!
