Between EFCC and Yahaya Bello

Yahaya Bello governed his state for 8 years leaving so much to be desired. The youths expected so much from him considering his age as at when he was sworn in but more so the way he emerged as the governor. Some will say it was providence. The man was given a rare opportunity to prove himself and write his names in the sands of time for Kogi people but he performed below margin.

But that is not the problem.

Anyone who has been following events with EFCC cases can attest that the only time the antigraft agency can successfully prosecute a case is if either the sitting governor or anyone in the government complies with the agency and furnishes them with sufficient documents for prosecution. otherwise it will be a wild goose chase. 

in this case the governor whose behaviour yesterday can be likened to that of a political thug is strongly in support of the looting - of course because he has shown how subservient he is to Bello dlthrew cautions to the wind and came all out.

But let us remember why EFCC is going after Bello.... it is not because they have anything tangible,  it is only  because they have proven to be the attack dogs of the government in power. 

Anyone who has been watching will recall how he treated President Bola Tinubu with disdain when he won the APC presidential primaries. it appears that now that he has lost immunity the chickens are coming home to roost.

That said, Yahaya Bello is committing more crimes which may eventually Bury him by resisting arrest. Whoever is advising him to behave in such a manner is not helping him at all.

But what do we know? we would just be on the sidelines observing.
