Listen to your spirit!

Image
God in his infinite wisdom gave us human senses. These senses he put in us, to help us, protect us and more. Physically and intuitive. A lady was in a relationship with this man. He was everything and more, according to her. He gave her absolutely no reason to doubt him yet her spirit wouldn't be at ease. She asked if he was hiding anything from her and of course he told her there was nothing. He spirit kept nudging her but she gave in to the 'i want to get married' wave and got married to him. Only to find out he was a wanted man in his country, who had changed his identity and was living in disguise. If you search within you'd find that your spirit bears witness to things that happens around you. Most times we're so drowned in the noise of our environment to hear what it is saying to us. If you closely examine yourself, you'd find there were some decisions your spirit warned you against, or gave you a peaceful reassurance. God put this guide in us....

The labour of our heros past is now in vain?

Image
Yesterday, marked a very very sad day in the history of the nation Nigeria. President Tinubu signed into law our reverting back to the old national anthem that was composed and handed down by the colonial masters. His decision subsequently meant the anthem written by patriotic and indigent Nigerians meant little or nothing and as such, was squashed. We barely became aware that the legislature was proposing such a bill, when the next minute it flew through all the stages in the house and the president was appending his signature. Of all the problems in Nigeria, our national anthem took priority.  Not hunger Not poverty Not insecurity Not education Not health care Nothing about the social welfare of the citizens. Citizens dying daily, some going to bed hungry, our economy failing, youths and professional hands leaving the country in drones... Yet, the national anthem was out biggest challenge. Till date, the government has been unable to increase minimum wage from paltry ...

WHAT'S GOING ON?

Image
What's going on? What's really really going on? Where do we start from? What's with the generation of today? Everything about this generation is screaming depravity Youths willing to go to any length for fame, money and power Youths not ready to learn patience, diligence, hardwork, unteachable, unapproachable, disrespectful and wild. The basic principles that guide us as even humans have all been thrown away Where do we start to cry from? Hardened hearts! How could a band of students flog another student for alleged phone theft from evening till the morning of the following day until he died. How about the father who takes sexually explicit pictures of his toddler daughter and posts online? Takes her to clubs and stuffs claiming she'd grow up to like it. What kind of seeds are being sown? What's our generation becoming? What is going on? What is going on? Yesterday we saw the podcast of the lady who says so long as she's given some certain amount of ...

GROW IN TIME!

Image
I stood in front of the mirror admiring myself for the uptenth time.  Turning left Turning right Back Front Guess what?  I wanted to lose weight and skipped dinner for a few nights. For someone who could eat at any hour of the night, I believed I had arrived oh. So there I was turning round the mirror like Miss World when it dawned on me; SUCESS DOESN'T HAPPEN LIKE THAT. THERE IS NO TRUE SUCCESS THAT SPROUTS OVERNIGHT  . To see the physical results to weight loss, you begin to notice it from at least 3-4 weeks but there I was in front of the mirror within three days wishing the weights away. That's how some persons approach success. You try something for two days and expect to see the result of another who has been in that business for over 10 years. No patience to learn the ropes No patience to grow. Anything that sprouts so quickly, dies so quickly as well. Anything that stands the test of time, needs time to build strong roots. For any venture you want to g...

Happy children's day

Image
For we in Nigeria, today is a day of celebration. Today, we celebrate one of life's most precious gifts; OUR CHILDREN! One day, I was exhausted from the hyperactivity of our kids.  Chasing Cleaning Adjudicating Feeding With other accompanying house chores. I wanted peace, quiet and some semblance of sanity so the minute hubby got back home from work, I downloaded everything on him and went on to tell him how I missed my single years and our early days of marriage. Well, hubby as is his nature, listened toe patiently, comforted me and began to tell me about some friends who didn't have kids, with their pristine clean homes but would give anything to have my supposed 'noisy and dirty home'. This post is not to open the wounds of those searching and praying for kids but to show how important they are to our lives. Children bring warmth Children make the home complete Children are the driving forces behind almost everything we do Any yes, our lives would be a bo...

Society robbed me.

Image
A friend sent me a picture of myself 6 years ago. I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!! Was that was me. Back then right after childbirth, I looked almost the way I was just after our wedding and I began to wonder how I conceived it in my heart that I looked fat. The rigours of healing from a cesarean section, nursing a baby, playing wife and being present for everyone and also keeping up with the societal dictates of looking a certain way. I had heard so many people tell me over and over again that I had gained weight. At a time when I was supposed to be enjoying the miracle of conceiving and birthing children, as well as nursing them and growing with them through every phase, I let society get into my head and steal those special moments because all I was thinking of was how fat and unattractive I had become. Today I'm twice as big than I was back then and I see now that society robbed me of precious moments. I couldn't take pictures with my kids or create fine memori...

Wickedness in High Places!

Image
The Bible says we cannot understand the heart of a man because it is desperately wicked. But it appears like some people taken their own wickedness so high that even the devil sits to take notes from them.... Then those set of people are students being mentored by some Nigerian politicians. In a media interview some weeks ago, the Minister for Works, Engr. Dave Umahi was asked a question about the environmental impact assessment on the roads that he claimed will be constructed and the way he answered it gave him away as being either callous or that he had skeletons in his cupboard.  Many businesses along the coastline had been marked for demolition and the owners had made several appeals which fell on deaf ears. They begged the government to not demolish their properties and terminate their businesses but the bulldozers will not hear of it, bringing down one structure after another. It was obvious they will not build anything. Then today they suddenly discovered telecom...
