Not everybody needs it!

Image
You see this thing called 'ADVICE',  Not everybody needs it Not everybody can take it Not every cares about it. They say a wise man doesn't necessarily have to go through a thing to learn, he simply learns from from the experience of others. However, some persons have hardness or rather itching ears; they don't want advice and if peradventure you give it, they'd not take it. They prefer to suffer through things themselves, to gamble through situations and ultimately use their lives as experiment. The resultant end is wasted years, wasted resources, some die, some are lucky and scale through unhurt, some lose valuable friends, connections and opportunities. Some don't value the advice because they have no value for people or for the person giving the advice Others are full of themselves. Before you even finish a sentence they have 16 inspirational quotes on what you want to say . Some honestly have no inclination that they're towing a wrong part o...

Food or art exhibition?

Who will pay for this parara? I thought Definitely won't be me cos what in the world of daylight robbery is this? It had been one hell of a crazy week at our work place when Oga Boss decided that to foster office bond, we should all go have lunch together. And honestly the baby girl treatment was long overdue for your Chi-Chi. I was amongst the first to pack up my things and be ready. Everywhere spoke class, the interior design was a beauty,  And the setting? Wow was the word for it. Menu, waiters, ambience, this was the kind of place meant for me. First things first, I calmed myself down with a very chilled glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice, then proceeded to place my order. It was amazing to find local cuisines listed out in their menu. Indeed this place was meant to calm a person down. It was a bliss until my meal arrived and I saw one teaspoon of stew used to draw a map on my dish, two long grasses, some funny looking art staring at me. Was that meant to be my f...

Don't stay under!

It's called 'betrayal' for a reason, because those who inflict the wound are those whom you trusted completely and gave unfettered access to your life and heart. It can't be betrayal if it's coming from an outsider. It takes a Judas with a kiss to twist the knife. A friend, brother, spouse, acquaintance, business partner or someone you brought up and cleaned up, helped to set up or risked alot for... We actually in our subconscious mind know this but one can never be too prepared and so, once in awhile you hear  'I can't believe he/she could do this to me' ' The most painful part of everything is that I trusted him/her' . When an outsider says something, people might ignore. Now you see why everyone believed the narrative was true when it came from those whom people supposed were your close pals? To advance in life, we must encounter these Judas on the climb. So,this is just another reminder that betrayal would come. However, don'...

When it's your time!

Mohbad's death, as negative as it is, became his announcement to the world! Imagine people outside Nigeria recognizing his music, acknowledging his talent anddruming their support in protest for proper investigations into his death. Those who taunted, threatened, bullied and tried to frustrate him while alive are all on the run and have their music and those in relations with them, banned meanwhile Mohbad's songs have been topping chats even surpassing records of old hands in the business that some are even speculating that he might be nominated and might probably win a Grammy. Yes, the example above is sad in the sense that it took the death of MOHBAD for him to get the recognition he sought and deserved. This same scenario is the reality of so many people excluding the part of death. Some have been slaving to be promoted; they promise you it'll come this month, next minute you hear it would have to hold on till another six months. Some have been denied their p...

LISTEN!

New term, and my 5 years old son started a new class. He began complaining of his teacher from day1 and well, I just assumed he didn't want  to be in that class as he had a strong bond with his previous class teacher. Today, I woke him and his sister to prepare them for school and the minute my son heard he was going to school, he began to cry. He said his Aunty flogs him on his palm and he's forced to write. The only reason he did6leave that school today was because of my relationship with the proprietor of the school but hubby and I sure rained down the heavens. Not without the standing reminder that any further complain would be met with us withdrawing our kids. From an actively happy student to one who refuses to go to school? Every parent should please listen to their kids! Do well to create an atmosphere where they can freely discuss with you. What do they do in school? How was their day in school? Assess their relationship with fellow students, teachers and g...

Wisdom with age!

Image
Growing up, I'd never let it slide. In my 20's, I had everything to prove. If I hear someone said something about me, I was gonna be coming for and explanation. If I heard it, then there'd be a confrontation, explanation, apology or something. Secondly, I always wanted to explain myself, my thoughts, my points, my opinions. I wanted to convey my feelings, so I talked. Many years down the line, I realized that one didn't always have to talk or be heard, to win. The answer to win lies n application of wisdom to everything. The lady who always wanted to prove a point is now the one advicing others to stay calm. The one who always wanted her voice to be heard is now as still as the waters. I learnt to apply wisdom in answering people when they question anything I do. Learnt to indulge people, instead of going into arguements, listen to them, smile a d nod then you part ways and go do the things you've decided on. A simple 'Yes Sir, yes Ma,  will save you...

New day!

My kids and their cousins spent the weekend together and you trust what's like having kids between the ages of 3-5years. Mad Hhhhhhhoooooouuusseee! Crying, screaming, shouting, tantrums, settlements, every kind of means to entertain themselves. I did my best! Ohhhhhhhh I really tried to handle the situation as best as I could. It surely was by God's grace that I didn't loose my sanity,or throttle anyone. Four kids running around the house. I want to eat I want to poo-poo I want water Mummyyyyyyyyy! The grace of God is strong oh! The Lord was my strength and came through for me. I couldn't wait for the kids to go back to their parents. Finally they left and the house went back to silent mode My kids, have been walking around the house like rats drenched in rain Every alternate minute, they'd be asking 'Mummy, where are my cousins?' 'Mummy, are my cousins coming back? We wish for a million things, our eyes always searching for the next thing wi...
